Snow Plowing F.A.Q.

Question: Do i need to stake my driveway?

Answer: Some snowplowers will stake it for you others would like you to.  Often times a large Landscaping company who continues to do snowplowing for you will stake it at.  Before you judge your snowplower by this added perk understand that you pay for everything and it will probably cost you a push of snow for the time.

Question: How do i find a snowplow guy?

Answer: The best way is to ask your neighbors who they use.  It is always to the snowplowers benefit to have as many driveways as possible on the same block.  Ask for a reduced rate!  You might get one if he is a small business.

Question: My plowguy drives a crapy truck.  Is this a problem?

Answer: Yes and No.  This can mean many things and you don’t want to discredit him because he drives an old truck.  Consider this.  An older truck can be fixed with some extra wire and a few parts from his friend at the local shop, probably even overnight!  He probably has it paid off and has been around for a while and knows what he is doing.  Of course the new truck shows class and is flashy but he can’t fix it when something dumb happens (trust me it can).

This goes for the plow too.  The old ones have easy to get parts.  The new ones… he’s done for the day or two!  Unless he stocks his own parts.

Suggestion - pick your plowguy because he is honest.  You should have gotten his name from a friend…
